Error in medication leads to apparent wrongful death

Correctly diagnosing the condition of a patient in Illinois is the first step to planning a path of treatment and prescribing the necessary medications. However, even if one's condition is properly identified, should the patient be given the wrong type of medication, the results can be catastrophic. A family in another state has recently filed a medical malpractice lawsuit against a facility after an error in medication led to the apparent wrongful death of a 64-year-old man.

Wrongful death: Medical errors rank 3rd in causes of death

Visiting a medical facility for treatment can be a scary and stressful experience and the level of care patients receive can have a significant impact on their health. Any form of negligence that is present during the treatment of a patient can have disastrous results, and in some cases, errors can prove fatal. Families in Illinois who lose a loved one due to medical errors may wish to pursue accountability through a wrongful death lawsuit, but the process can be intimidating.
