Couple files lawsuit regarding wrongful death of unborn child

The loss of a child is something that no parent in Illinois should ever have to experience, especially when that loss comes as the result of another party's negligence. Unfortunately, far too many families have been forced to endure a similar loss when a medical professional or facility fails to provide the necessary care during pregnancy. A couple in another state has filed a medical malpractice lawsuit, claiming that the negligence of a facility and doctor led to the wrongful death of their unborn child.

Man files wrongful death claim against medical facility, doctor

Prior to performing a scheduled procedure, medical professionals in Illinois must keep watch over a patient's condition and address any concerns. Should an infection be present, doctors may choose to delay the operation to prevent complications and protect the health of a patient. A man has filed a wrongful death lawsuit following the death of his mother claiming that her doctor ignored the presence of an infection prior to performing an operation.
